Community Based Child Protection Mechanism for the children of Garment Workers in Bangladesh (CB-CPM) project.

Working Area: Ward no 5 & 6, Mirpur Dhaka North City Corporation.
Goal: Community-based response and support mechanisms are in place to protect and promote the rights of the children of garment workers in Bangladesh.
Objective:

Outcome-1: Children are equipped to advocate for and claim their rights.

Outcome-2: Families and communities are proactive and responsive in providing adequate care and support to the children and responding to their needs.

Outcome-3: Government, CSOs, private sectors, and other relevant stakeholders are responsive in strengthening the Child Protection System and responding to the needs of the children of RMG workers.

Significant Achievements/ Milestone:
  • Progress of 891 children’s (G-472, B-419) 5 development scale among them 69% are RMG worker’s children.
  • Mainstreamed 583 children (G-306, B-277) into school.
  • 323 cases of violence against children have been monitoring and reported by the community people.
  • 83 vulnerable people (G-23, B-37, F-20 & M-3) of the working area relief from trauma through trauma informed care & psychosocial support from BTS.
  • Adolescents are become empowered to protect themselves and to stand violation against children. 
  • Parents and care giver are practicing positive parenting that also contributed to reduce gender-based violation.
  • Strengthen complain response mechanism within the working area through children, caregivers and multi-stakeholders’ engagement.
Beneficiaries: Direct beneficiaries 3200 (Children 1825 & Adult 1375), Indirect beneficiaries 
Stakeholder: Children and Youth, Families and Communities, RMG employee, RMG employer, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Government representatives, Protection Committees and Systems, Private Sectors Representatives, Law Enforcement Agencies, Independent Media Actors, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
Project Duration: 1st October 2022 to 30th September 2025
Project Budget: 1,79,28,965/-
