BGD ECHO HIP 2023 Rohingya Response (ECHO)

Working Area: Camp 15, Camp 17, Camp 20, Camp 22, Camp 26 & Jaliapalong Union, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar
Goal: To provide essential humanitarian assistance to Rohingya refugees and adjacent host communities in Cox’s Bazar through inclusive health, education, and child protection interventions, while strengthening humanitarian coordination mechanisms to ensure a protective and enabling environment for children and communities.
Objective: Boys and girls at risk of and/or experiencing violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation are protected through health services based on the minimum standards of child protection in humanitarian action.
Significant Achievements/ Milestone:
  • Over 6192 CBCPCs and Adolescent Clubs actively engaged in identifying, reporting, and addressing CP risks.
  • Child Club involvement Like Club Election fostered a culture of peer-to-peer protection and leadership.
  • Adolescent-led initiatives created strong awareness on issues like Mobile & Drug addiction, child marriage, and GBV prevention within Rohingya and host communities.
  • Established strong coordination with CiCs, NGOs, and community leaders, ensuring children at risk are referred to case management and other essential services.
  • MPCACs and GFSs provided thousands of children with access to psychosocial support, recreational activities, and peer learning.
  • On 19 May 2025, during the Open Budget Meeting at Jaliapalong Union, several issues raised by the children of Jaliapalong Union were successfully included in the union budget. These include: BDT 50,000 allocated for child development and protection.
